Radio Rooftop Bar
Radio is a rooftop bar situated on the 10th floor of the ME London hotel with striking views across the river Thames and London’s skyline. The rooftop is accessible via a dedicated express lift from the ground floor of the hotel.
This stunning bar is the perfect place to sip champagne, celebrate with friends over one of our signature cocktails and take in the views.
Sushisamba’s glass-walled express lift hurtles up the outside of Heron Tower, taking you 38 storeys above the City in under 30 seconds until you’re level with the tip of the Gherkin. Once you’re up there, Sushisamba also has a pretty impressive rooftop bar open all year round (it’s occasionally closed to the public for private parties though, so call to check in advance). Expect to be competing with crowds like Rio Carnival on sunny days. It’s less sequins and more suits up here, but you’ll still spot bling aplenty.
The terrace’s point of focus is a tree sculpture with pretty orange leaves that sparkle when lit up after sunset.
Most central London rooftop bars rely on their views – put a price on them, even – neglecting their booze offering rather than reaching for new heights. Aqua Spirit has things the other way around. It serves quality cocktails that (almost) justify the price tag, but in a sky-high setting that’s a little lacklustre.
The rooftop bar terraces are set awkwardly at the opposite end of the room to the lift entrance and can only be accessed by sashaying through the slick Japanese restaurant. It’s a shame the terrace doesn’t have the same chic international style as the dark, sexy interior bar, circular in shape and ideal for perching and people watching.
Have some fun in a former carpark at Skylight, a rooftop playground in Tobacco Dock, which is back for some summer fun. The Wapping rooftop will be home to three floors of bars, street food, croquet and pétanque with some unparalleled panoramas of the city skyline to boot. There’ll also be screens to watch the Word Cup and Wimbledon unfold and don’t miss the one-off parties throughout tehe summer featuring DJ collectives including Gold Teeth and Coastal Haze.
