London Design Festival 2018: Decorex Predicts Blue Tones Will Dominate ⇒ Decorex International predicts the colour blue to be a major design trend at this year’s London Design Festival, ranging from curtains to furniture and, of course, fabrics.
In addition to showcasing the best new design trends and pieces, Decorex International 2018 believes that blue is in this year, as it is set to be a popular colour trend at the show. From bold and bright tones to more soothing shades, the colour will be found on the new rugs, wall coverings, furniture and fabric designs.
Decorex International is an internationally renowned showcase for the high-end interiors industry and the only one of its kind in the UK. Decorex expects more than 400 exhibitors – from established names through to up and coming makers – who will launch their latest collections over the course of the four days. The show returns for its 41st edition to the historic location of Syon Park on the 16th to the 19th September 2018, it is one of the London Design Festival’s top five key design destinations.
Decorex has established itself as Europe’s leading interior design event, offering the finest furniture, lighting, textiles, craft and accessories from emerging and established names alike. Said to be the centrepiece of the London Design Festival, Decorex provides an unparalleled opportunity for interior design professionals to discover exquisite creations from more than 400 international exhibitors.
One of the brands present at Decorex is Boca do Lobo (H45), contributing to the blue tones trend with its Heritage Sideboard. Hand-painted-tiles have gained a privileged place in architecture throughout the centuries. Portugal has adopted them like no other country has and, in order to honour the Portuguese hand-painted tiles, Boca do Lobo created the Heritage Sideboard. This piece presents a different number of layers, where each one tells a different story.
Essential Home will be present at 100% Design (Booth L421) but is still getting on the blue tones train with its Mansfield Armchair. The iconic Mansfield chair is the ultimate mid-century modern masterpiece, combining the velvet retro touch with the 60’s sleek lines. It is an accent barrel chair atop a sophisticated swivel polished brass base. Its iconic low-slung and crescent shape make it look like a furniture piece out of the mid-century Mad Men era.
